Susan Boyle’s Album Goes On Sale
by Teh Obenks on Nov.24, 2009, under Breaking News, Celebrities
Finally, British reality TV singing sensation Susan Boyle , who shot to fame after her audition for “Britain’s Got Talent” was aired in April, appears set to have the biggest album in Britain this year, music retailer HMV said on Monday.
“I Dreamed A Dream,” Boyle’s debut album released by Sony Music, went on sale in Britain on Monday and hits stores in the key U.S. market on Tuesday.
“Just eight months ago, no one was aware of the talents of Susan Boyle. Now, she has generated more Amazon pre-order CD sales globally than any other artist,” said Julian Monaghan, head of music buying at Amazon.co.uk.
On the eve of the release, Boyle, 48, performed a cover of the Rolling Stones’ hit “Wild Horses” on British TV show X-Factor.
“That is an incredible achievement and is testament to the fact that she has captured the hearts of people all over Britain, America and the rest of the world.”
Amazon declined to give sales figures.
As a singer, she offers something else: relief. Boyle’s clear but warm tone and stolid phrasing turns everything it touches into a more songful version of New Age music. It’s relaxing to listen to those drawn-out syllables, gradually building toward a gentle, wavelike climax. Boyle possesses neither an impulse to swing nor an ounce of the blues; whether she’s covering the Monkees, the Rolling Stones or Madonna, Boyle sings like she’s in a place of worship, surrounded by white walls and soft light, cooking up some chicken soup for the soul.

I am sorry to hear that Susan Boyle who was a runner up in the final performance of Britain’s Got Talent last Saturday has been hospitalized. Sunday evening Boyle was seen wandering her London hotel looking disoriented. It was found out that she was beaten down by exhaustion.
Paramedics were called to the scene and took Boyle away voluntarily. Boyle didn’t make a fuss. The paramedics calmly took her out through the main lobby and into the waiting ambulance. She was rushed to The Priory Clinic in London to receive care for her “exhaustion.”
Susan Boyle Britain’s Got Talent 2nd Winner

Finally, Britain’s Got talent has over. And everybody in the world was surprised with the result. The dance group Diversity upset and shocked crowd favorite Susan Boyle on the season finale on Saturday night of ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’ The winner not only surprised the world, but it also surprised the group of teenage boys as well.
Susan Boyle, which has made wowed the judge on her previous performance when she sang “I Dream a Dream” , was the antithesis of what many people believed made a celebrity.
Even though her clips of the April show were downloaded more than 150 million times on the Internet, films crews camped outside her home in a small town in Scotland and tabloid reporters have followed her every move, and she sang the same song in Saturday’s final, but rousing though the performance was, it was not enough to trump the outsiders Diversity who won by public vote.
